Whether scoring a goal or throwing a perfect pass, youth sports provide an adventure for children to explore their athletic ability and the rush of great teamwork. SAMLARC proudly partners with sports leagues to provide welcoming places for teams to grow across all our facilities. This is part of SAMLARC’s mission and vision, and a key part of a rich community culture. At the January 28, 2025, SAMLARC Board Meeting, the Board of Directors honored three Santa Margarita Pop Warner Football teams who had an especially outstanding season! This past year, these teams from our community battled their way to the 2024 Pop Warner Super Bowl in Florida, demonstrating the great value of tenacity and teamwork.
9U Orange Cowboys
The 9U Cowboys went undefeated this year and won the Orange Empire Conference Bowl – with their defense only allowing one touchdown the entire season. The team showed dedication, determination and toughness to make it to the big game. Out of 4,600 teams, they fought their way and finished second at the Super Bowl! This was an impressive year and we are proud of the Orange Cowboys and their accomplishments.
9U Silver Cowboys
For the third consecutive year, the 9U Silver Cowboys earned a spot in the Super Bowl tournament. This team’s success is driven by a combination of talent, discipline, and hard work. Despite the heartbreak of three tournament losses, their perseverance demonstrated excellent sportsmanship. These young athletes will continue developing their resilience and the skills to pave the road to future victories, both on and off the field.
11U Neon Cowboys
The 11U Neon Cowboys have established themselves as a formidable foe. Finishing 15-1 and winning the Orange Bowl seven years in a row has earned them admiration in the older division of Pop Warner Football. Although they fell short in this year’s Super Bowl final, they had a remarkable year. This team has demonstrated that teamwork and resilience is a strong tool for success both on the field and in the future.
The achievements of these teams reflect the determination of our local youth, their coaches, and the supportive families who encourage them every step of the way. One of SAMLARC’s driving values is to celebrate youth sports as a reflection of an invested, welcoming, and dynamic community. We are incredibly proud of our young athletes and look forward to cheering them on as they grow, compete, and inspire future generations.
