SAMLARC is proud to maintain beautiful parks and gathering spaces that enhance the quality of life throughout our community. We are committed to investing in thoughtful upgrades that improve comfort, safety, and long-term sustainability for our Members. As part of this ongoing effort, renovations are underway at the Altisima Park Picnic Shelter, bringing exciting improvements.
Demolition will begin on Tuesday, February 10, with installation of the new structure tentatively scheduled to start Monday, February 23, pending any weather setbacks. The overall project timeline is estimated at three to four weeks. This renovation will replace the existing wooden trellis with a modern fabric shade structure designed to provide superior sun protection, enhanced weather resistance, and reduced maintenance needs. The new shade structure is also more cost-effective over time, ensuring lasting value for the community.
During construction, the picnic shelter will be closed for the duration of the project. Members may experience loud noises due to demolition activities, and several parking spaces will be temporarily blocked as work progresses. For safety and awareness, “Construction In-Progress” signage will be posted throughout the area.
