Victorian Bench Refurbishment

SAMLARC is proud to offer beautiful trails, parks, and stunning views throughout our community. We are committed to maintaining these shared spaces to ensure both safety and enjoyment for everyone who calls SAMLARC home. Among the many features that make our community special are the 227 benches placed throughout SAMLARC’s trails, parks, and open spaces (common areas). These benches provide the perfect spot to rest, take in the scenery, and simply enjoy a quiet moment outdoors. Maintaining these benches is an important part of keeping our amenities safe, functional, and inviting.

SAMLARC performs bench maintenance and refurbishment in phases within four-year cycles. This year’s phase includes 50 benches across seven locations:

  • Antonio Parkway

  • Santa Margarita Parkway

  • Avenida De Los Banderas

  • Arroyo Vista Street

  • Melinda Road

  • Urban Trail East

  • Urban Trail West

This project is particularly exciting because it marks the final phase in the four-year cycle.  Starting in late September and continuing through the end of the year, select benches will be relocated to higher trafficked areas. The remaining benches will be dismantled for a fresh coat of stain. Bench legs will remain on-site and marked with caution tape to ensure safety until the work is complete.  When planning projects throughout the community, our highest priority is to minimize disruption by scheduling work during low-traffic seasons. This thoughtful approach allows Members to continue enjoying SAMLARC’s amenities through the project’s progress.

With the completion of the bench refurbishment project, SAMLARC will be more enjoyable than ever, offering Members refreshed spaces to sit, rest, and take in the beauty of this community.
