- Board Meeting Highlights - January 2024
The SAMLARC Board of Directors held their monthly meeting on January 23, 2024 to discuss projects and initiatives that maintain and enhance the SAMLARC community. The Board acted on the following key items for the stewardship of SAMLARC’s assets and viability:
- In accordance with California Corporation Code Section 7522(d), declared Board Candidates Deborah Christensen, Judy Vasquez, and Greg Wieckert to have been elected to the Board of Directors. Each Director will serve the SAMLARC community for two years in a volunteer capacity, joining the other four Directors in driving SAMLARC’s continued growth and success.
- Approved the agenda for the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Membership. The Meeting is open to SAMLARC Members and will take place on February 22, 2024.
- Adopted the 2024 Architectural Standards and Policies & Guidelines. The documents are available online at SAMLARC.org/homeowners and come into effect on February 7, 2024.
- Approved a request from Eagle Scout Candidate Andrew Poulson (Troop 787) to build and furnish three portable fishing lure disposal stations around the Lago Santa Margarita.
- Approved contracts for three new SAMLARC Programs. Each program offers Members and their families the opportunity to enjoy an active lifestyle with new friends.
- Jesmody Fitness (Altisima Park)
- Skyhawks Sports Academy (Altisima Park)
- Mission Viejo Nadadores Swim School (Solana Pool)
- As recommended by the Landscape and Facilities Enhancement Committee, approved several project contracts for community maintenance, including:
- Concrete repair work along the SAMLARC trails and lakeshore
- Infield dirt replacement and reconditioning at the ballfields at Tijeras Creek and Trabuco Mesa Parks
- Large-scale pool deck overlay and replacement at Altisima Pool
- Recoating of the epoxy floors of the restrooms at all SAMLARC Pools
- Replacements of dugout covers, screens, safety netting, and backstop pads throughout SAMLARC ballfields
