The SAMLARC Board of Directors held their monthly meeting on August 22, 2023 to discuss the projects and initiatives that maintain and enhance the SAMLARC community. The Board acted on the following key items:  

• Welcomed new FirstService Residential associate, Nicky Le, to the SAMLARC management team. Ms. Le joins SAMLARC’s onsite community management staff as SAMLARC’s Financial Analyst, and will be integral to monitoring SAMLARC’s financial activities per Board direction.
• As recommended by the Landscape and Facilities Enhancement Committee (LFEC), approved a Work Authorization with Diamond Sports Field Services for the refurbishment of the bocce ball court at Central Park. The court will be releveled before the addition of decomposed granite and then topped with a half inch of oyster shells (as is traditional with bocce ball courts). The project is anticipated to take place in late 2023.  
•  As recommended by the LFEC, approved a contract with Ferandell Tennis Courts Inc., to repair and resurface Tennis Court #1 at Arroyo Vista Park. This tennis court has experienced significant cracking in the concrete base, and prompt repair and resurfacing will improve the longevity of the facility. 

All items on the Consent Calendar were approved, including approval and/or ratification of a variety of work authorizations for the ongoing maintenance of SAMLARC assets, as well as contracts with professional service providers.   

• As recommended by the 2024 Election Committee, approved the next Election of the SAMLARC Board of Directors to take place on February 22, 2024. In addition, there will be a Special Meeting of the Board of Directors will be held for the tabulation of ballots on February 21, 2024. The deadline for Board Director Applications for Nomination is 5 PM on October 16, 2023 and in accordance with SAMLARC’s Bylaws, no applications or nominations can be made after 5 PM on November 14, 2023.  

• Renewed a contract to continue maintenance of the floating islands at the Lago Santa Margarita. These islands are an important facet of facility management at the Lake, and proper care is critical to the overall balance of the Lake’s ecosystem.

The SAMLARC Board of Directors is committed to preserving the value, desirability, and attractiveness of all properties within SAMLARC. Per Civil Code 4920, the Open Session and Executive Session Agendas for each meeting are officially posted at the SAMLARC Beach Club and Business Offices. The next regularly scheduled Board of Directors Meeting will take place on September 26, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at the Lago Santa Margarita Beach Club.
