Board Meeting Highlights - February 2024

The SAMLARC Board of Directors held their monthly meeting on February 27, 2024 to discuss projects and initiatives that maintain and enhance the SAMLARC community. The Board acted on the following key items for the stewardship of SAMLARC’s assets and viability:

  • Recognized two teams from Santa Margarita Pop Warner Football and Cheer for excellent sportsmanship and achievements during their competitive seasons. The PeeWee Cowboys and Junior Varsity Cowboys Cheer Squads each performed with incredible sportsmanship and competed in the JAMZ Nationals tournament in Las Vegas.
  • Appointed SAMLARC Directors to serve on various SAMLARC Committees throughout 2024. The Directors will serve on the following Committees or liaison roles:
    • Community Lifestyle: Deborah Christensen, Greg Schnieders, Judy Vasquez 
    • Communications: Jeff Halbreich, Greg Schnieders, Judy Vasquez 
    • Architectural Review: Greg Schnieders 
    • Covenant: Greg Wieckert 
    • Landscape & Facilities Enhancement: Deborah Christensen, Paul Persiani, Judy Vasquez 
    • Budget & Cash Flow: Jeff Halbreich, Paul Persiani, Greg Wieckert 
    • Insurance Review: Deborah Christensen, Nate Farnsworth, Greg Wieckert 
    • Election: Greg Wieckert 
    • Sports Council: Jeff Halbreich 
    • RSM Chamber of Commerce: Greg Schnieders, Jeff Halbreich 
    • Community Associations of Rancho: Greg Schnieders
    • City of RSM: Paul Persiani
  • Based on recommendations from the Insurance Review Committee, approved the renewal of SAMLARC’s insurance policy with consistent with coverages as previous years.
  • Approved sponsorship of the annual Rancho Family Fest event, hosted in partnership with the RSM Chamber of Commerce. Rancho Family Fest will take place on October 5-6, 2024 at Central Park.
  • As recommended by the Landscape and Facilities Enhancement Committee, approved repair work on the Arroyo Vista Tennis Court. The project will take place in Quarter 2 of 2024.

All items on the Consent Calendar were approved, including approval and/or ratification of a variety of work authorizations for the ongoing maintenance of SAMLARC assets, as well as contracts with professional service providers.    

The SAMLARC Board of Directors is committed to preserving the value, desirability, and attractiveness of all properties within SAMLARC. Per Civil Code 4920, the Open Session and Executive Session Agendas for each meeting are officially posted at the SAMLARC Beach Club and Business Offices. The next Board of Directors Meeting will take place on March 26, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Lago Santa Margarita Beach Club.
