The SAMLARC Board of Directors held their monthly meeting on January 28, 2025, to discuss projects and initiatives that maintain and enhance the SAMLARC community. The Board approved all Consent Calendar items for the stewardship of SAMLARC’s assets and viability, ongoing community maintenance, and contracts with professional service providers.
January Highlights:
- Presented certificates of recognition to three Santa Margarita Pop Warner Football teams for their hard work and victories during the Pop Warner Super Bowl Tournament
- 9U Orange Cowboys
- 9U Silver Cowboys
- 11 U Neon Cowboys
- Per California Corporation Code section 7522(d), declared four SAMLARC Members as elected to the Board of Directors. Jeff Beardsley, Jeff Halbreich, Paul Persiani, and Greg Schnieders will serve on the Board through the 2027 SAMLARC election.
- Due to his recent appointment to the Rancho Santa Margarita Planning Commission, Director Persiani submitted his resignation from the Board of Directors. As appointed by the Board, Director Halbreich will now serve as Board President (with Director Schnieders serving as Vice President) until the Board realigns at the February 20, 2025, Annual Meeting.
- Appointed SAMLARC Member Madona Shaheen to serve as a Member of the Architectural Review Committee. Madona has been a SAMLARC Member for over 20 years, and her interior design expertise and community knowledge will benefit the Architectural Review Committee’s goal to maintain community property values.
- Approved a contract with Muscle Memory Dance Fitness Classes, taught by local long-time dancer Taylor Engle Anderson at Central Park. Starting in February, beginning and intermediate-level students will be able to enjoy dance fitness classes with inspiration from salsa, hip-hop, belly dance, afro beats, and more.
- Approved contracts with Gentle Yoga, Sweet Spot Tennis, and Nadadores Swim for several programs throughout SAMLARC.
- Approved a fall turf conversion project in areas along Antonio as well as Los Alisos. In partnership with MWDOC, this project is anticipated to be a zero-cost project for the association.
- Introduced Daniel Brown as part of the SAMLARC Management team. As a Project Operations Coordinator, Mr. Brown will support SAMLARC’s facilities and amenities through project and vendor management.
