Evolve Pickleball

Pickleball is a paddleball sport (similar to a racquet sport) that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, much like a wiffle ball, with 26-40 round holes, over a net. We invite you to learn this fast-growing sport through our Pickleball program! Kevin and Shelly are IPTPA Level 2 Certified Teaching instructors and are excited to bring their expertise to the SAMLARC Community!

Pickleball 101-Learn to Play Pickleball: This Newbie/Beginner/Low Beginner class is geared towards individuals who are both newer to Pickleball or lack skill consistency in their overall game. The focus will be on specific skill sets such as footwork and balance, stroke production, shot selection, rules and scoring, and basic strategy. Paddles and balls will be provided.

Pickleball 201-Level Up Doubles: This High Beginner/Low Intermediate  "skills/game style" class is geared towards the in-between beginner-intermediate players needing to improve skills to become more "unattackable" and reduce unforced errors.

Pickleball 301- Intermediate/High Intermediate: This "game style" class is geared towards more intense doubles strategy, shot selection, and identifying attackable vs unattackable balls. Learning the various types of offensive shots (reaching volleys, lobs), vs defensive shots (resets and drops). Learn when to "reset or speed up the ball" based on both ball and court position.

Minimum 5- Maximum 12. Wearing tennis shoes is highly recommended. Please bring your own water bottle.
